What are cookies?

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are and how we use them, the types of cookies we use i.e., the information we collect using cookies, how that information is used, and how to manage the cookie settings.

Cookies are small text files that are used to store small pieces of information. They are stored on your device when the website is loaded on your browser. These cookies help us make the website function properly, make it more secure, provide a better user experience, understand how the website performs and analyze what works and where it needs improvement.

How do we use cookies?

Like most online services, our website may use first-party and third-party cookies for several purposes. First-party cookies are mostly necessary for the website to function the right way, and they do not collect any of your personally identifiable data.

The third-party cookies used in connection with our website are for taking payment (Stripe, on Stripe’s own domain) and, if you accept optional cookies, for understanding how the website performs (Google Analytics) and measuring ads (Google Ads). A cookie banner asks you to accept or reject those optional cookies before they are set.

Types of cookies and similar technologies we use

Booking form (local storage)

The marketing pages are static HTML. Your browser may keep a copy of the booking form in local storage on your device so a refresh does not wipe what you typed. That stays on your computer and is not sent to our server until you submit the form. Local storage is not a cookie. It is cleared if you clear site data in your browser.

Payments (Stripe)

When you pay the admin fee you are sent to Stripe’s hosted checkout page (checkout.stripe.com). Stripe sets its own cookies on stripe.com to take the payment. That is Stripe’s page, not ours. We do not load Stripe’s card widget on helptopass.co.uk. SeeStripe’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab).

Google Analytics

If you accept optional cookies we load Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Service, including which pages they view and where people drop off in the booking form. Google Analytics is provided by Google and sets cookies such as _ga to distinguish visitors. We do not load Google Analytics, and those cookies are not set, unless you press Accept. Google Ads

If you accept optional cookies we also load Google Ads so we can measure whether ads led people to this site (including remarketing). Google Ads is provided by Google and may set cookies such as _gcl_au. We do not load Google Ads, and those cookies are not set, unless you press Accept. A conversion event for a completed booking is not on this site yet. When it is added it will use the same Accept / Reject choice.

Manage cookie preferences

On your first visit a banner asks you to accept or reject optional cookies. Your choice is stored on your device (local storage), not as a tracking cookie. Use Cookie settings in the footer at any time to change it. Rejecting optional cookies stops Google Analytics and Google Ads from loading and removes those cookies this site can reach. The booking form’s local storage and Stripe’s payment page are not part of that choice.
